What we need Exol is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead and oversee the operational performance of a $200-300M revenue warehouse with potential future regional warehouses. This role will involve strategic direction, P&L responsibility, and leadership of operations managers managing both conventional and automated warehouse facilities. The Senior Director of Operations will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring financial performance, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, customer satisfaction, and sustainability. What we do Exol is pioneering warehousing-as-a-service, offering outsourced warehousing operations, and specializing in automated warehousing solutions. Our focus is on the efficient movement of goods in cases and pallets across all sectors, such as wholesale, retail, and general merchandising. Exol is an independently managed joint venture between Symbotic and Softbank. What you'll do • National Operations Leadership: Provide strategic leadership for a key hub warehouse with the potential of additional regional warehouse sites, ensuring alignment with Exol’s goals and operational objectives. Oversee the performance of operations managers and their respective teams, ensuring consistent and efficient operations across all locations. • P&L Responsibility: Assume full responsibility for the P&L of site and/or multiple sites within the region. Manage financial performance, including budgeting, arenaflex control, and revenue growth, while ensuring the operational goals are met within financial targets. • Operational Excellence: Drive the execution of best practices in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management across all locations. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure both conventional and automated operations meet productivity, quality, and sustainability goals. • Team Development & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers and their direct reports across multiple locations. Foster a culture of leadership, collaboration, and high performance across the regional team. • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to improve performance, optimize resource allocation, and drive growth in alignment with Exol's national goals. Collaborate with senior leadership on corporate strategies and initiatives. • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and compliance standards across all sites. Foster a safety-first culture and ensure all sites are aligned with Exol’s commitment to compliance with environmental regulations. • Vendor & Supplier Management: Oversee vendor relationships and manage procurement for all sites, ensuring that the organization receives the best quality services and products at competitive prices. Negotiate contracts and SLAs to optimize arenaflex-effectiveness and operational efficiency. • Technology Integration: Oversee the integration and optimization of automated systems and warehouse technologies to ensure operational efficiency and arenaflex savings. Work closely with IT and engineering teams to streamline processes and enhance performance. • Customer & Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service across all warehouse sites. Address client concerns and collaborate on solutions that align with their goals and expectations. • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly monitor and report on operational performance, financial results, and KPIs to the executive team. Utilize data and insights to make informed decisions, optimize site performance, and meet overall company objectives. • Sustainability Initiatives: Lead the company’s efforts in sustainable logistics practices across all sites, ensuring that Exol remains at the forefront of environmentally responsible supply chain solutions. What you'll need • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. • Minimum 10 years of experience in operations management within the logistics, warehousing, or supply chain industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple sites or regions. Proven track record of managing large teams and full P&L responsibility. • Proven ability to lead and inspire large teams across multiple locations. Strong strategic vision, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. • Extensive experience in managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and driving financial performance. Ability to analyze financial reports and implement corrective actions to optimize site profitability. • Expertise in managing both conventional and automated warehouse operations. In-depth knowledge of WMS, material handling systems, supply chain logistics, and inventory management. • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives and meet deadlines within budget. PMP or similar certifications are a plus. • Experience in overseeing warehouse automation technologies and integrating them into traditional operations for efficiency gains. Familiarity with advanced logistics and automation tools is a plus. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong ability to negotiate with vendors and manage supplier relationships. • Proficiency in arenaflex Office, ERP systems, and warehouse management software (WMS). • A passion for sustainability and environmentally conscious practices in logistics. • Results-oriented, with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Our Environment • Remote position with some travel (10-25%). • Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other locations. • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis. • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. • A portion of site time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness). • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. The base range for this position in the posted location is $186,000.00 - $256,000.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
