Fanatics Markets is the real-money prediction and trading app where you can invest in moments you care about. Built on a secure platform, we let users predict real-world outcomes and trade on events they actually follow — from sports and entertainment to political elections and beyond. Our mission is to redefine how fans engage with the moments and markets that matter most. We're looking for the right people to help us build the future of prediction markets. We are seeking a veteran editorial leader with prestige newsroom experience to bridge the gap between hard-hitting sports journalism and the high-growth world of prediction markets. What was once reserved for quants and oddsmakers now belongs to fans, and our content is how that power gets unlocked. Your goal is to make Fanatics the most trusted, authoritative voice in the industry, differentiating us through incisive sports storytelling and elite ball knowledge. This role has both strategic ownership and real editorial authority, with the mandate to uphold newsroom standards while building a modern media engine inside a high-growth company. What You’ll Do • Own our long-term content strategy and how it scales across established and forthcoming content marketing surfaces. • Serve as the internal “editor-in-chief” for major moments (playoffs, Super Bowl, trade deadlines, elections), aligning all outward-facing messaging in real time. • Launch and oversee our flagship daily newsletter. You won't just report scores; you’ll identify the market-moving storylines, trade rumors, and injury impacts that define the price of a game. • Lead a daily morning briefing uniting Social, PR, and platform content teams on the priority stories to tell, ensuring our brand is at the center of the sports conversation in real-time. • Lead day-to-day coordination of high-profile relationships with external editorial partners, ensuring a unified approach in content strategy, editorial calendars, and co-branded storytelling across both platforms. • Collaborate with internal Growth teams to supplement SEM/GEM strategies with rich and discoverable content landing pages. What You Bring • 10+ years in a legacy sports newsroom, with an innate understanding of the sports cycle and an obsession with editorial standards. • A deep, active network of reporters, editors, producers, and newsroom leaders across major sports, media, and culture outlets, and the judgment to know when and how to engage them. • You understand that great content is a customer acquisition tool. You know how to craft headlines that stand out on noisy social feeds and drive high-intent organic traffic. • You can take a room full of social media managers, PR reps, and creators and point them all toward a single, cohesive narrative. • You understand the nuance of sports — not just the stats, but the personalities and subplots that drive fan engagement. Salary Range: $143,450 – $200,000 USD per year The base salary for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and may vary depending on the successful candidate’s geographic location.
